Ideal Boilers – The high efficiency pioneers June 01st 2005 At Ideal Boilers, we remain at the forefront of the drive towards high efficiency (HE) and were the first manufacturer to produce HE boilers in the UK. Using this experience and expertise, we have continually evolved our products to meet the changing demands of workplaces in the 21st Century.
The latest edition to our HE heritage is the Imax, a range of highly efficient, low emission condensing boilers. These are specifically designed for UK commercial applications, available in wall-hung, frame-mounted or floor-standing models, all of which meet the proposed changes to Building Regulations L2.
The Imax range is available in three wall-hung models (45kW, 60kW, 80kW) suitable for natural gas and propane operation and now seven floorstanding versions with outputs ranging from 80kW to 280kW. All models are capable of being installed as a single unit, or simple, modular formations for even bigger outputs.
Significantly, all models in the range are fully modulating down to 12kW, therefore matching boiler output to system requirements, ensuring maximum efficiency can be maintained even at the lowest outputs.
With its condensing technology, the Imax range is highly efficient, with floor-standing models operating at up to 98% efficient nett (88.5% gross) non-condensing and wall-hung versions up to 96.6% efficient nett (87% gross). At a 30% load, the figures are even more impressive with floor-standing models 108.4% nett efficient (97.7% gross cv) fully condensing and wall-hung hitting 108% nett (97.3% gross cv).
The design of the Imax enables it to match the load required by the system, ensuring these efficiencies apply to even the largest model.
Higher efficiencies will also be achieved at lower temperatures.
Furthermore, wasteful on/off cycling is reduced to an absolute minimum and standby support is included as an integral part of the design. The Imax uses advanced microprocessor based controls to operate all electrical functions and provides full commissioning and fault diagnostic displays. Furthermore, it takes into account each module’s operating hours and evens out usage. In floor-standing models, the Hours Run Meters and BMS control is built-in as standard and an outside sensor for weather compensation is supplied with each boiler.
All Imax boilers are designed for ease-of-siting and installation with a wide variety of flueing options – making the Imax one of the easiest commercial boiler ranges to install and service.
