A leading independent UK gas supplier – Corona Energy is set to revolutionise the world of metering by introducing its Automated Meter Reading (AMR) service. The service, which constitutes a complete energy management solution, is available to all Industrial & Commercial (I&C) gas users, whether existing Corona Energy customers or not.

AMR works as follows:

• Attach AMR transmitter to an existing meter to measure the

  volume of gas passing through the meter;

• Measure the 'pulse' generated by the meter and automatically

  transmits to Corona Energy using digital communications – NO

  complex wiring necessary;

• Report accurate gas usage, validated and presented to the

  customer via dedicated website.

Corona Energy has carried out extensive trials of its AMR service with selected customers. The results showed a substantial reduction in costs and administration due to accurate meter reads, while multi-site customers gained a valuable snapshot of the energy performance of their whole business.
