Low cost lighting through increased efficiency and longer life July 04th 2007 Megaman is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of energy saving, compact fluorescent lamps and is probably best known for its pioneering work on innovative new designs of CFL that enable replacement of less efficient light sources in a wide range of applications
Megaman’s innovations include Ingenium technology, which offers an unparalleled life of up to 15,000 hours compared to 1,000 hours for incandescent, with an extended switching life cycle of 600,000 times, plus a luminous efficacy of 7% more than conventional CFLs using electronic ballasts.
Megaman lamps are ROHS compliant and, when installed, can provide up to 80% savings on running costs when compared to lower performance lamps. Offering direct replacement for conventional, energy-wasting incandescent spotlights, Megaman reflector lamps are the same size as the lamps they replace while offering a life of up to 15,000 hours for a fraction of the energy consumption. New models in the range include 50mm (R50), 63mm (R63) and 80mm (R80) diameter Compact Reflector lamps with wattages of 7W, 11W and 15W respectively – as well as a new 20W 121mm CFL reflector for direct replacement of PAR38 lamps.
Megaman’s Ping Pong lamps have the same 45mm diameter as P-45 incandescent lamps, so they fit easily into fittings designed for GLS light sources, providing a very quick and easy way of upgrading to low energy lighting.
New to the Megaman range is the Dimmerable GU10 and GLS replacement. The new Dimming range uses a built-in electronic ballast to provide stepless dimming from 10% to 100%, with no delay to response in dimming signals. They can be used with most triac dimmers, so they are easily retrofitted to existing luminaires.
Liliput compact fluorescent lamps from Megaman are the world’s smallest energy saving lamps, making them ideal for applications where a discrete light source in a compact fitting is required. Another first, Megaman’s 7W compact fluorescent candle lamps incorporate a silicone sleeve over the glass envelope, making these innovative lamps the first energy saving lamps in the world with integrated safety features. |
